Conservation volunteer day at Hamilton Claypits.
Join us and The Strathclyde Green Office for a hands-on conservation day helping to improve an area of wetland at The Hamilton Claypits.
We’ll be working outdoors to remove reedmace and buddleia, helping to manage the wetland and improve the area for wildlife. It's going to be a great day where you can make a real difference to the local wildlife and community.
What will we be doing?
- Removing reedmace and buddleia from the wetland
- Litter picking
- Dry-land vegetation clearance
There will be options to take part on both wet and dry land, so you can choose an activity that suits you.
What should I wear?
Wear old clothes that you don’t mind getting muddy!
We will provide PPE and outdoor equipment, including:
- Protective glasses
- Heavy-duty rubber gloves
- Wellington boots
- Waders
- Waterproof clothing (not glamorous, but practical!)
Come along, learn some practical conservation skills, and help improve a local wildlife area!
